These terms cover your use of Kide: the apps, the sync service, the website at trykide.com and the MCP server that AI assistants connect to (together, "Kide"). By using Kide you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Kide.
Your account
- You can use the apps without an account. Sync and AI connectors need one.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account, including actions by AI assistants you connect to it.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for digital services in your country if that is higher.
Your content
Your decks, cards, images, audio and review history are yours. You give us permission to store, copy and process them only as needed to run Kide for you: to sync them, back them up and send them to the AI assistants you connect. You can export your decks and delete your account at any time.
Don't put anything in Kide that you don't have the right to use, or that is illegal.
AI assistants
When you connect an assistant, you authorize it to act on your account within the permissions you grant, and you can revoke it at any time. The assistant is a separate service with its own terms. We aren't responsible for what it writes or does with your permission, so review changes it makes if they matter to you. Kide's AI page describes the available tools.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse Kide. In particular, don't:
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or get around permissions and limits;
- disrupt or overload the service, or use it to distribute malware or spam;
- reverse engineer the service except where the law allows it;
- use Kide in a way that breaks the law.
We may suspend or close accounts that do, after warning you where reasonable.
The service
Kide is in beta. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but it may change, have bugs or be unavailable at times, and features may be added or removed. Keep your own exports of anything you can't afford to lose. If we ever shut the sync service down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data.
Price
Kide is currently free. If paid features are introduced, they'll be clearly marked and you'll be asked before being charged.
Disclaimers and liability
Kide is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in these terms, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, beyond what the law requires. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by agreement.
Ending
You can stop using Kide and delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete Account).
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the date above changes. Significant changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Kide after that means you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
